The Approach
The Cultivated Path a responsive approach, not a template.
The Cultivated Path is not a programme to move through or a framework to be fitted into. It is a responsive and adaptive approach informed by well-founded and empirically grounded research in coaching, adult development, performance neuroscience, and depth psychology that meets you where you are and moves with you as you develop.
The tools and approaches available are substantial. They are reached for when your material calls for them not because they are the next step in a sequence. The path is yours. The cultivation is shared.

The Quality of Relationship
What Denis brings to every conversation.
Before any tool or framework, there is the quality of attention. Listening without judgement. Genuine curiosity about your world. Naming what is observed in the room shifts in energy, changes in tone, the moments when something lands differently. Holding space for productive uncertainty without rushing to resolve it.
What Denis will not do: solve problems for you, impose his own conclusions onto your situation, move you out of productive difficulty before it has done its work, or foster ongoing reliance. Your independence is always the goal.
The Four Phases
How the work moves.
The Cultivated Path moves through four phases. They describe the quality of the work at different stages not steps to be completed in sequence. The boundaries between them are permeable. The path adjusts as clarity develops and your situation evolves.
- 01
Basal
The Foundation
Understanding your whole picture. Finding what has brought you here beneath the presenting situation. The one big thing beginning to emerge.
- 02
Branch Out
The Exploration
Going deeper into what is actually operating beneath the surface. Exploring what is possible. The roots and soil of the one big thing.
- 03
Becoming
The Emergence
Trying on new behaviours, mindsets, and ways of relating to your work and yourself. Small consistent steps compounding. Change taking genuine root.
- 04
Be
The Embodiment
Consolidating and living the change. Watching the garden bloom. Becoming a landscape architect able to tend your own garden independently.
The Diagnostic Process
A foundation built before the first session.
Before formal coaching begins, every client completes a comprehensive diagnostic process a whole-of-self assessment across the seven domains of life, a cognitive and subconscious patterns scan, and a behavioural profile. Together they produce a picture that is more complete and more honest than self-report alone could provide.
The diagnostics are not a one-time intake event. They are a living thread through the engagement informing the working hypothesis, surfacing responses to change as the work deepens, and measuring progress over time.
What You Leave With
The landscape architect's toolkit.
The engagement closes not because the work is finished but because you have the capability to continue it yourself. By the end of The Cultivated Path you will have developed four capacities that remain yours:
- 01
Framing
Separating what is actually happening from the story being told about it the first step in responding rather than reacting.
- 02
Deepening
Asking what is operating beneath the surface using your own diagnostic picture as a reference when something feels off.
- 03
Broadening
Seeing the full picture across all areas of your life simultaneously and the other perspectives available to you.
- 04
Behaviour Sustaining
Small, specific, consistent actions that sustain the change already underway and keep the garden cultivated over time.
